Health risk assessor

Health risk assessor

2015- Health risk assessor
In my current employment at the Swedish Chemicals Agency I’m engaged in the evaluation of pesticides and biocidal products. Specifically, I’m involved in evaluating the potential risks to human and animal health, posed by these products. These processes are guided by common goals and regulations within the EU. One of my duties is to participate in the ongoing work to improve and harmonize these processes. In this context, I’m particularly interested in issues of veterinary nature; such as the goal to replace, reduce and refine animal experiments (3R).

2011-2015 Doctoral student
Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science, Department of Clinical Sciences, Uppsala, Sweden
The pace was high during my four years as a PhD-student. I had to work and study hard to reach the set goals, and to keep deadlines. Apart from skills strictly pertaining to research and laboratory work, I also learned a lot about teamwork, organization and discipline. My PhD-project was a collaboration between three laboratories: SLU, Sweden; INRA, France; and the Pirbright Institute, UK. During the project I spent one month at INRA (Jouy-en-Josas) to learn about recombinant protein engineering. I also participated in a calf vaccine study at the Pirbright Institute.
